3D Product Configurator
Let customers change material, colour, size and components and see the result render live, with the price updating as they go.
I'm Peter Csipkay, the developer behind threejsresources.com. I build interactive 3D websites, product visualizations, data-driven 3D graphics, and immersive WebGL/WebGPU experiences.
Creative frontend developer near Munich. I scope, build and ship the work myself, so the person you brief is the person writing the code.

In detail
Each one written the way I would explain the work on a first call: how it is built, what drives the cost, how long it takes, and when it is not worth doing.
Let customers change material, colour, size and components and see the result render live, with the price updating as they go.
Show a product in 3D — as rendered images and video, or as a real-time model the customer can turn in their browser.
Sites where 3D carries the experience — built to stay fast on a mid-range phone and to still work when WebGL does not.
Datasets too large or too connected for a flat chart, rendered on the GPU so they stay explorable at a hundred thousand points.
Getting a model from a CAD export that will not load to a web file that does, without it looking like a different product.
VR and AR that run in a browser with no app install — built with the fallback for headset-less visitors treated as the main path.
Not a build
Already have developers? Then you may not need another pair of hands. Architecture review before you commit, performance rescue when a build will not hold frame rate, or a second opinion on a quote that arrived. The first call is free and ends with a straight answer on whether this is worth buying at all.
Consulting →For agencies
Most of my work arrives through an agency rather than an end client. Your brand stays on it, I invoice you, and the end client never needs to know I exist.

You sold the 3D piece and need someone senior to build it under your brand, on your timeline.
The concept exists and looks right in Figma. Turning it into something that holds 60 fps on a phone is the part I take.
Configurators, product viewers and the asset pipeline behind them, integrated into the stack you already run.
CAD data that has to become a web experience without looking like a different product when it gets there.

Walkthroughs and interactive floor plans built from models rather than photos, so unbuilt units can be shown too.
Browser-based digital twins, CAD viewers and BIM models, with the pipeline from STEP or IFC to the web explained.
Globes, geospatial maps, point clouds and network graphs, rendered on the GPU so they stay explorable.

F.A.Q
Get answers to commonly asked questions.
What to expect before we start.
It depends on scope — a small animation or single interactive element costs a lot less than a full product configurator or immersive landing page. Tell me what you have in mind and I'll give you a clear quote after a short scoping conversation, no surprises. It's also fine to start small and grow the project later.
Most projects take 2-8 weeks depending on scope. A focused 3D component or hero scene can ship in 1-2 weeks; a full product configurator or immersive landing page is usually 4-8 weeks. I'll give you a realistic timeline before we start.
How I fit into your project.
Yes — this is one of the things I do most. I integrate Three.js / React Three Fiber directly into your existing React or Next.js codebase, following your conventions, rather than building a separate microsite you then have to maintain.
Yes — I take on freelance projects alongside my full-time role, usually evenings and weekends. I'm upfront about realistic timelines when we scope the project together.
Yes, you get the complete source code and inline documentation. You own everything I build for you.
Performance, devices, and support.
Performance and mobile support are built in from the start, not bolted on after. I test across real devices, cap pixel ratios, manage render loops carefully, and provide graceful fallbacks (including WebGPU → WebGL) so your 3D experience holds up everywhere.
Yes — I offer ongoing support arrangements for updates, performance monitoring, and content changes after launch. Most clients keep a light retainer or come back for follow-up work as their site evolves.
